Rules

1) NO BODY CHECKING!!!!

2) All High School rules will apply (the rules of this tournament are much like the turkey shoot)

3) No 10 second rule

4) Teams on the field will consist of 8 players: 1 goalie, 2 defensemen, 3 mids, 2 attack

5) Balls near the wall will be referee’s discretion for possession (please instruct your players that when a ball is near the wall to try and remain as safe as possible and listen for a whistle)

6) Each team will receive a 1 minute time out per game

7) Games will be running time: 25 mins

8) Face-offs will only occur to start the game, after a goal is scored the referee will blow his whistle and the play will start with the goalie

9) Penalties will be 1 and 2 minute running time (penalty time to be kept by coaches)

10) All games will start 3 minutes after previous game ended

11) There is no overtime or Braveheart…If a game ends in a tie at the end of regulation play then it will end in a tie

12) THE TOURNAMENT WILL TAKE PLACE DESPITE THE WEATHER. THE ONLY WAY IT WILL CANCEL IS IF THERE IS AN ERIE COUNTY TRAVEL BAN.

Coaches,

This tournament is to allow players to play!!! I understand it is important to coach kids to win, but I cannot emphasis enough that this is NOT what this tournament is about. This tournament should be used as a learning tool that helps your players get ready for the up and coming season. Please help me to ensure that the tournament is fun and safe for all by instructing your players on the rules and refrain from arguing any calls or having a “win at all cost” attitude. This is the fifth year for this tournament and I have many returning teams participating in it. I would like to keep the tournament going, and keep the teams coming back so please help to make it a fun filled safe day. Thank you for your cooperation.
